Schüler-BAföG
Higher education students in Germany are eligible for the § 2 BaföG (the so-called "Schüler-BaföG"). The amount of the government loan is need-based and based on the following factors:

  • Type of educational program
  • Living situation
  • Payments for health insurance and compulsory long-term care insurance
  • Parental obligation to support
  • Place where the program/degree course is held

KfW Student Loan
The student loan offered by the KfW Banking Group can be had regardless of the course of study or parental income. It offers the following advantages:

  • Individually determined student loan period
  • Low variable interest rate
  • Possible period of reprieve before repayment begins
  • Repayment period of up to ten years' time
  • Protection against basic risks
