Basis Course
Students hoping to prepare for the challenges of a degree course, clear away uncertainties and weaknesses and become better acquainted with the Academy’s orientation and its faculty can enroll in a one-semester pre-study period. Faculty will give recommendations in one-on-one discussions with the student within the context of a portfolio preparation course. The pre-study period can serve as a point of orientation, allowing those interested in a full degree course to recognize strengths and weaknesses and react to them quickly. In the course of the semester, students will not only learn the basics of design, they will also receive an individualized program of objectives after the first eight weeks. Progress on these goals will be closely evaluated, guided and documented by members of the faculty. The preliminary study period is completed with internships and visits to lectures in the exam degree course. The Basis Course can also be counted as credit should the student continue to pursue a regular course of study at the Academy.
